Hello! Welcome to Front of Book. Here’s a little about it.
So… what is it?
Front of Book is a curated digest of menswear and style, a weekly newsletter with digestible, no-nonsense writings on trends, brands, and advice. As the newsletter grows, it will also feature premium content including interviews with and profiles of the people defining men’s style today.
What does “Front of Book” mean?
“Front of Book” is the term for all those short stories at the beginning of a glossy magazine (after you flip through the ads). They’re the magazine’s guide to a curated life.
As print magazines have declined, there have become more online voices on these subjects, but fewer dependable ones, and most think you want to dress like dress like Timothée Chalamet or a Japanese streetwear fanatic. Few are catered to regular guys who just want a little guidance on menswear and style. Where can I get a solid white T? What should I be paying for a suit these days? Can I pull off pleated pants?
That’s where Front of Book comes in. It will focus on practical advice to look good; quality-first brands; and the latest in men’s style.
Sounds good. But who are you?
I’m a writer and magazine editor with a bad habit of obsessing over clothes and style. (I currently have 18 browser tabs open related to menswear.) For reasons unknown, spending countless hours deep-diving, say, loopwheeled sweatshirts (what’s a loopwheeled sweatshirt? Stay tuned and find out!) makes me endlessly happy. I’m still learning too, and Front of Book is my chance to put these obsessions to good use.
Thanks for reading, and look out for the first newsletter later this week.
